The Romanian Cultural Summer

A series of Romanian Cultural Summer events in Lebanon will be held between 20 and 28 June in Beirut, Saida and Zouk Mosbeh. These events are organized by the Romanian Embassy in Lebanon with the support of local partners. The events are addressed to the entire Lebanese public and show the importance and strength of Romanian-Lebanese cultural ties.

The first major cultural event is a Musical Voyage for the Feast of Music, an opera concert organized together with Notre-Dame de Louaizé University (NDU) and the French Institute in Jounieh. The concert will feature the famous Romanian opera singer Micaela Mingheras from the National Opera in Paris, as well as the French piano player Denis Dubois and the choir of NDU. The concert will take place Thursday June 20th at 20:00 o’clock at NDU, Zouk Mosbeh, Issam Fares Auditorium.

Within the Romanian Cultural Summer in Lebanon a concert will be held in Saida by the Romanian string quartet “Arton” formed by Ondin Brezeanu (violin), Silviu G. Gherasimescu (violin), Catalina Violeta Tudosie (viola) and Magdalena Sokola (Cello), playing pieces of Romanian and foreign composers (Ciprian Porumbescu, Constantin Dimitrescu, Grigoraş Dinicu, Béla Bartók, Alfred Alessandrescu etc.). The concert is organized in collaboration with the French Institute in Saida and the Hariri Foundation. The event will take place Saturday June 22nd at 18:00 o’clock at Khan el Franj, Saida.

The June events will be closed by an extraordinary exhibition of the Romanian painter, Alina Teodorescu. The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on June 28th at 19:00 at IRIS, Al Maarad Street, An Nahar building in central Beirut. The public will be able to visit this exhibition until June 30th.
