Brief history

Romania and the Republic of Lebanon have established diplomatic relations to the rank of embassy, on January 6th 1965.

Romania’s Ambassador to Lebanon is H.E. Mr. Victor Mircea (November 8th 2013).

Lebanon's Ambassador to Romania is H.E. Ms. Rana Mokaddem (June 10th 2013).

Political Relations

High-level visits:

To Bucharest: in 2001 and 2012;
To Beirut: In 1993 and 2002;

Visits at the prime minister level:

To Bucharest: 1994, 1996 and 2002;
To Beirut: in 1995, 1998 and 2003;

Visits at foreign minister level:

To Lebanon: In February 1995, Romanian Foreign Minister visited Lebanon.

To Bucharest: The Lebanese Foreign Minister has made official visits to Romania in January 1992 and May 1997.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs talks:

Bucharest: June 2004;
Beirut: June 2006; Visit of the MFA State Secretary for Global Affairs (2012).

Parliamentary level visits:

To Romania: The visit of Nabih Berri, President of the Lebanese Parliament (October 1997)
To Lebanon: Visit of the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Romania (March 2002) and of the President of the Senate (2009).

Other visits:

To Romania: Lebanese Minister of Tourism (August 1995), Minister of Public Works (November 1995), Minister of the Economy and Trade (December 1995), Minister of Defense (December 1995);

To Lebanon: The Minister for Romanians Abroad (2014), Romanian Minister of Economy (2013), Romanian Ministers of Trade and Industry (February 2000 and July 2006), Tourism (February 2001, April 2002) and the Director of the Internal Intelligence Agency (June 2001).
